This periodic report documents cases received by the “Housing Monitor” from January 2022 to May 2023. It emphasizes the correlation between recent escalating events and the number of monitored cases, totaling 563 reports, which is significantly higher than figures from previous reports. Through a detailed timeline and in-depth analysis of the monitored cases, the report highlights 5 emerging patterns of evictions and housing vulnerabilities, along with the interventions of the “Housing Monitor” in each. These patterns include endangerment of residents in buildings damaged by the effects of Turkey’s recent earthquake, threats to housing security for Syrian refugees due to reduced support, arbitrary evictions associated with campaigns against Syrian refugees, evictions led by municipalities, and mass evictions and displacement resulting from economic transformations.
