Collective evictions: The most prominent pattern in the Housing Monitor Report

Periodic Report | June - December 2023

This report covers cases received by the “Housing Monitor” from June to December 2023, documenting 345 cases, reaching a peak in August (143 cases). The majority of these cases originated from Syrian refugees due to arbitrary security crackdowns and raids on their places of residence in multiple Lebanese regions. Despite fewer reported cases compared to the previous report, there was a noticeable increase in the number of affected individuals due to mass and collective threats and evictions. As a result, this report primarily focuses on mass evictions and threats or concentrated evictions within specific geographical areas, categorised by the spatial context in which they occurred: buildings, camps, and neighbourhoods.
