Under the Bombs: who supervises the work of NGOs working with the refugees?

Amid intensified airstrikes in southern Lebanon,Walid, fleeing bombardments in Nabatieh, faced displacement, discrimination, and neglect as he sought shelter with his family in Zahle. Despite reaching out to the disaster management unit and an international NGO, he experienced eviction, difficulty in contacting the relevant actors, and was forced into inadequate housing. Facing discriminatory practices and pressured to leave the shelter, Walid and his family eventually returned to Nabatieh, refusing further displacement. 

Their story sheds light on some of the struggles faced by Syrian refugees in Lebanon during the war, particularly regarding racism, lack of empathy, and solidarity from both the government and refugee aid organizations in time of war.
