Since 2023, Lebanon has seen an alarming rise in oppressive security measures targeting Syrian refugees, marked by arbitrary arrests and forced deportations. Local authorities have collaborated in enforcing evictions under the guise of “illegal residency,” contributing to a widespread campaign to displace Syrians. The situation has worsened following the recent Israeli war on Lebanon, leaving non-Lebanese communities further marginalized and excluded from emergency aid. This report highlights the dire conditions faced by Syrian refugees, particularly in May School in Tripoli, and calls for urgent action to ensure their rights and shelter. It emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach that guarantees protection for all displaced persons, regardless of their nationality, in light of the government’s failure to fulfill its obligations.
