The aim of this workshop is to reframe the concept of the «right to housing» by linking it to the concept of the right to the city, property relations, and access to resources. It also provides a comprehensive overview of the history and current state of housing institutions, laws, and related projects in Lebanon to contextualize our housing struggles historically, spatially, and politically. The workshop is grounded in the work of the «Housing Monitor», which endorses and confronts injustice and violence in the housing market that disproportionately affects the most marginalized groups in society.
Furthermore, the workshop aims to expand the community of activists for the right to housing and to train participants on the Housing Monitor’s working methods.
