Public Works Studio participated in Beirut Design Week and launched the «Beirut Eviction Monitor». The event was structured into three components: an exhibition, a data gathering workshop, and an interactive presentation. During the workshop, we engaged with the participants and discussed several questions regarding the right to housing in our city. We collaborated with Shafra Studio to create an interactive map that tracks evictions happening in the city, based on the data we collected from the project «Mapping Beirut through its Tenants’ Stories». We employed this map as a tool to raise inquiries on how design and modern technology can aid our endeavors in studying, devising, and implementing strategies to combat the ongoing eviction and displacement in Beirut.
