Taking advantage of the crime of killing a member of the Beirut Guard Regiment in Gemmayzeh, a Beirut MP launched an application to report Syrian refugees in Beirut. MP Ghassan Hasbani – the Lebanese Forces Bloc – launched the application through a press conference, through the “Every Citizen is a Sentinel” initiative.

This application is part of the campaign organized by the Lebanese authorities to deprive Syrian refugees of their rights, in addition to policies and practices to pressure Syrian refugees to return to their homeland. Since last April, this campaign has led to an escalation in arbitrary security campaigns and raids on the places of residence of Syrian refugees in various Lebanese regions, rendering their housing security even more fragile.
