In its legislative session on September 30, 2020, the Parliament ratified the law for the Protection of the areas affected by the explosion in the port of Beirut and for the support of their reconstruction. The “Legal Agenda” and “Public Works”, which monitor the state’s actions regarding the affected areas, publish a joint article to evaluate the law in view of the seriousness of its contents and its effects on the reconstruction of the city of Beirut, the recovery of its neighborhoods, and the rights of those affected.
