We are publishing this form to document violations of the right to safe housing, whether through evictions or denial of access to housing in Lebanon. Today, residents of Lebanon are facing multiple forms of eviction and mass displacement as a result of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon. At the same time, public policies continue to violate housing rights by enabling evictions, at a moment when the public good requires urgent measures such as adopting a zero-eviction policy, putting vacant buildings to use, and setting a cap on rent values.
If you are experiencing threats of any form of eviction, please fill out this form to document this serious violation of the right to housing. Documented evictions help expose the real threat to one of the most fundamental human rights, one that is being violated daily by the Israeli occupation through mass displacement and the destruction of homes, and whose severity is being downplayed by Lebanese authorities through their management of displacement and prioritization of real estate interests over the collective right to housing.
This documentation is secure, carried out with full respect for privacy, and no information that could reveal the identity of those reporting is shared. It is meant to support efforts to propose laws that guarantee the right to housing, in addition to push for urgent measures required in light of the ongoing war, which are outlined in this message addressed to the government.
