Amiri lands constitute the majority (52 percent) of all real estate belonging to the Lebanese state, or 31,907 different properties. The district of Baalbek alone includes more than 33% of the total Amiri lands, while around 23% of them are located in the district of West Bekaa, 17% in the district of Rashaya, and 7% in the district of Akkar, which means that 80% of the Amiri lands are concentrated in predominantly agricultural environments (the Bekaa region and Akkar). This concentration is nothing but a historical result of the land management system during the Ottoman era.
